I had the chance to fish some new lure colors today and try my new ACC Crappie Rod out. The fish bite much better today than they did last week even though the water is still very clear. We need it to rain and put some color in the water and we will all see the crappie bite get better.

I caught the biggest fish fishing docks and some of those fish were as shallow as 4' deep. Crappie is really schooling up in large schools. I am seeing very large numbers of fish.

I changed colors fished with different style jigs and colors, spoons you name it I threw it. I caught fish on all of them but only one or two at a time. I kept at it and finally came across a larger school of nice crappie holding on a sandy point!

I spent some time checking water temperatures in the upper portions of the lake and found the water temps were in the mid-40s. The main parts of the lake were still at 50-54 degrees!

In today's video, we are on one of the biggest lakes in the country and have also been ranked the top bass fishing lake in the country many times in the last decade. Not only is it a great bass lake and hosts dozens of tournaments a month, but Sam Rayburn Reservoir is also known for its crappie fishing. On this trip we caught 5 species out of one area, there are not many lakes where that is possible!

We fished again with Carolina ALL OUT today and it was a good day all around. We caught a fish vertical jigging structure.

We had a chance to go flounder gigging for the first time this year and we had some good success. We gigged 16 flounder total, not a bad night.

We did some Inshore fishing for red drum and trout today. We had a good day finding Drum chasing bait in shallow water. Allen kept us on the fish all day, the bite seemed to get better as the day progressed. We caught the trout on Mirrolure Topwater plugs, also some of the drums hit those as well.
